Taupo Primary School - Hooked on Learning

We must be the change we want to see in the world. Ghandi

This Youtube clip is a powerful visual of the outcome of serious thinking and great imagination enjoy!

Rip Van Winkle makes a comment that the classrooms are just like they were, except that the classrooms have whiteboards and not blackboards. This reminds me of our Deputy Principal's words and plea that we do not use digital tools just like pen and paper. We want our students to create, analyse, synthesise and to push the boundaries with the tools they have at their fingertips.

The clip inserted here invites educators, whānau and students to learn, to stretch limits and to enjoy, The serenity and energy of these spaces must surely spill over to the learners.

Taupo Primary School is in the process of learning about modern learning environments. We ask questions like:

"What is the thinking in these environments?"

"How will learning improve?'"

"How can we develop environments that support our teachers, families and students?"

" Where will we start?"

A group of us have formed a coffee group and intend to enjoy hearing each others stories and adding depth to our understanding. We will report back our ideas to our community and children from time to time.

I would love to get some feedback from our students about what they think of this Youtube clip. Make sure you watch it on Youtube so you can get the full screen effect

ENJOY!

Such an interesting and thought provoking clip. Shows the challenge for classrooms to keep up with an ever changing future.

Just like the progressive and ever developing pedagogy around learning I think.
Yes I found the clip provoking but comforting. Despite the demands and challenges in education today there is still a strong creative drive for beautiful, funky buildings that will fire students imagination.

Wow! What amazing ideas. Where to begin? I like the areas that are more open and in touch with nature.
