Taupo Primary School - Hooked on Learning

From Scotland

Posted on 23 September 2014

Here I am in the Isle of Skye, learning all about how joyous it is to be a grandparent. Our children are our treasures; a sentiment shared all over the world. We are lifelong learners..

In addition we have been learning all about the Isle of Skye; its rich history; and enjoying the wonderful landscapes. We crossed from the mainland to Skye on a ferry; the same trip that hundreds of years ago Bonnie Prince Charlie took as he escaped after being defeated in battle. I have included a few photos you may find interesting.

The local school is bilingual with a Gaelic section and an English section. The groups of children speaking Gaelic are kept separate from the English speaking children. Signs all over the island are in both languages
