The Arts at Taupo Primary School

Rationalisation.
At Taupo Primary School we are committed to engaging students in their expression and interpretation of ideas within creative, aesthetic and technological frameworks to enhance their personal well-being through both Visual and Performing Arts.

School Ownership.
 
The Performing Arts:
Drama, Dance and Music/Sound art specifically: Kapa Haka, School Production (bi-annually) Choir, Recorder, Ukulele, Marimba, Specialist music teachers, Shared syndicate/whole school music, waiata/songs, Activities e.g. Jump Jam, Te Reo Kori, Folk Dance, Jump Rope for Heart, PMP, Class-based activities.

The Visual Arts:
Art exhibitions in school/community, photographic and art competitions, Class-based activities.

Community Engagement in The Arts.

Taupo Primary School engages in the Arts by utilizing opportunities to include members of the local community and their specific talents: Maori leaders for Kapa Haka, visiting artists/performers.  We also provide opportunities for students to show case skills e.g., art auction/exhibitions, choir, instrumental groups, Tuwharetoa and other festivals.
